LEADING VIETNAMESE BANK VIETCOMBANK TEAMS WITH FPT IS AND TECHX TO ACCELERATE CLOUD MIGRATION TO AWS; DEPLOY AN AWS LANDING ZONE FOR SECURITY AND RESILIENCE

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) today announced a comprehensive two-year program to migrate several of its systems to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to optimize its technology infrastructure, enhance security and compliance, improve efficiency, and ensure operational safety and flexibility. This is part of Vietcombank’s “Cloud Computing Migration Program,” which will be executed in collaboration with FPT Information System (FPT IS) and TechX Corporation (TechX).

This marks a significant step in the bank's digital transformation strategy, aligning with Vietcombank's plans to enhance its data center and disaster recovery capabilities for improved business continuity and resilience.

Using AWS provides Vietcombank with cloud infrastructure trusted by millions around the world for its security and resilience. As part of this program, AWS, FPT IS, and TechX, leveraging AWS Professional Services (AWS ProServe) will (1) help establish Vietcombank's Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) (2) deliver a cloud enablement program for the bank's technology, business, and finance teams ensuring long-term success of the cloud adoption journey and (3) migrate Vietcombank production and development environments to AWS Cloud to help optimize technology costs, accelerate its transformation, and manage operational and management processes on the cloud. To ensure security, compliance, and control as the bank scales its cloud operations, Vietcombank will establish an AWS Landing Zone as the secure foundation for this migration.

This structured approach allows Vietcombank to modernize its technology infrastructure while maintaining the high standards of security and reliability that customers expect from a leading financial institution.

The cloud adoption will enable Vietcombank to optimize its operational costs, gain the agility to scale when necessary, minimize investment risks, and avoid idle resource waste. Through this transformation, Vietcombank will enhance its core platform and IT capabilities, accelerate digitalization and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Vietcombank has already been training hundreds of its staff in the past two years to equip them with the necessary skills to leverage cloud technology effectively. Vietcombank has already completed nine training courses for its staff focused on the AWS Cloud.
